Taste-In, Taster Tom Cannavan.

Tom Cannavan is a Scottish wine writer and television broadcaster, who runs online magazine wine-pages.com and who is much in demand as a presenter of fun but intelligent wine tastings and events.

Tom is Scotland's best know wine name, broadcasting weekly on Scottish Television's 'The Hour' (http://programmes.stv.tv/the-hour/wine for numerous clips) where his infectious enthusiasm for wine has developed a cult following. Some lively and occasionally anarchic live tasting with guests that have inlcuded Noel Fielding (The mighty Boosh), Lulu, Malcolm McLaren and Christopher Biggins (no, we are not making this up) have cemented his TV slot as must-watch telly for wine lovers north of the border.

Tom is also a serious wine writer and wine judge, winner of the wine writing 'Oscar', the Louis Roederer award, in 2008 and short-listed again in 2010, and also named as Wine Journalist of the Year at the Portuguese Wine Awards in 2010. He began writing food and wine articles for newspapers and magazines in the early 1990s, and as well as wine-pages.com his work has appeared in publications including World of Fine Wine, Decanter, The Sunday Times and The Independent. Tom has written or contributed to 10 wine books and he appears regularly on BBC radio talking about wine.

Tom is much in demand as a public speaker and hosts fun wine tastings, quizzes and entertainment events for corporate clients where the emphasis is on entertainment and presenting wine in an engaging way, though with the depth of knowledge to handle the most searching wine questions!
