In September 2009 Susie became a Master of Wine, making her one of the most recent new members of this highly respected group of experts.
In 2004 Susie published her first book, Champagne and Sparkling Wines (Mitchell Beazley). Her second book, Discovering Wine Country – Northern Spain (2006 Mitchell Beazley), won at the Gourmand World Awards 2006 and in it Susie gives full rein to her passion for food and travel, both subjects that she believes are fundamental to the enjoyment and understanding of wine.
In addition to her writing skills, Susie has lectured for a wide variety of clients including the Leiths School of Food and Wine, Sopexa, the Port Wine Institute and Wines from Spain. She is a panel chair for the IWC, and has judged the IWSC and the Decanter World Wine Awards. Susie has also appeared in London at the Wine Show, the Organic food and wine fair, the BBC Good Food Show and the Vive La France show.
Susie is an increasingly familiar face on TV and is acknowledged as having an informed but no-nonsense approach to wine. Whether hosting large corporate tastings or a ‘girls’ night in’, her friendly and easy manner is appealing to audiences of all types.
