Taste-In Taster, Rose Murray Brown, MW.

Scotland’s leading drinks journalist, educator and broadcaster – and one of very few Masters of Wine based there. Rose has written a regular weekly drinks column for The Scotsman for 22 years.  She also contributes to other international magazines in UK and Asia, broadcasts on BBC radio and TV and the History Channel - and presented a 13 part series on food and drink for Yorkshire/Tyne Tees TV.


Following university, Rose began her wine career working in Italy for several top Tuscan wine estates.  She then trained for ten years with Sotheby’s International, as wine and spirit specialist, working in London, France and Scotland.  She now runs a wine school in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and St Andrews – and is a highly experienced corporate entertainer as guest speaker and event organizer for corporate and charity functions.  She is also a keen charity campaigner, organizing the UK’s largest charity tasting for Comic Relief.   Rose also hosts exclusive wine tours – recently to New Zealand, South America, South Africa, Italy, Spain and France.  She travels widely and also judges at international wine competitions from China to Chile.
