Taste-In, Taster Malcolm Gluck.

Malcolm Gluck became one of the UK’s most popular and iconoclastic wine writers when he began his weekly Superplonk wine column in the Guardian. The column ran from 1989 to 2004 and spawned 18 editions of the number one selling Superplonk annual wine guide as well as the highly innovative and informative www.superplonk.com

True to his reputation as one of the great mavericks of the wine world, Malcolm has his very own inimitable style and approach when it comes to tasting and talking about wine. He is the only wine writer in the world who rates wines on a value for money basis.

Gamble with the Gluck Gambol and give him complete free rein to taste and titillate as he pleases. From Super plonk to Super pricey his controversial views and choice of wines will enlighted, engage and entertain!

Malcolm has written about wine for various other journals, newspapers and magazines including Cosmopolitan, Sainsbury’s Magazine, The Independent, Punch and the Sunday Express. He has also written several books on wine including The Sensational Liquid, Wine Matters – Why Water Simply Won’t Do and, most recently in October 2006, Brave New World.

He has had his own BBC TV wine series ‘Gluck, Gluck, Gluck’ and continues to appear on TV and radio to talk about wine. He has even compiled a classical music cd (with which to drink wine) for Deutsche Grammaphon. Malcolm regularly hosts wine tastings throughout the UK where his approach (down to earth, yet authoritative, insightful and highly entertaining) is regarded as funnier than any episode of Blackadder.
