Flamboyant and straight talking, Joe won the coveted International Wine and Spirit Communicator of the Year award 2005. His first TV appearance was on Rick Stein's Fresh Food in 1997 showing off his skills as a supermarket wine buyer. Subsequently things took off from there. He also appeared regularly on The Terry & Gaby Show on Channel 5, and was a weekly contributor to Great Food Live, UKTV Food's live lunchtime show as well as presenting his own programme, Great Wine Walks, also for UKTV Food.
He was selected to be one of Richard & Judy's wine experts (Channel 4) and is one of the authors of the Richard and Judy Wine Guide (Harper Collins 2005). Joe also appears each month as The Wright Stuff's Wine Expert (Five) guiding the viewer to the month's best buys. You may also have seen him as the wine and food teacher on the hugely successful, Ladette to Lady, or dining with Jilly Goolden and Alexander O'Neal on Celebrity Wife Swap!
Joe has just been signed as the face and corporate consultant to Dartington Crystal designing what are considered by many, to be the world's finest wine glasses.
Joe studied wine making in Bordeaux and has since worked as a wine buyer and consultant for a number of leading supermarket chains. He's young, vibrant and authoritative, but most importantly approachable.
He also has a great palate that culminated in him becoming the youngest ever International Senior Judge at The Royal Melbourne Wine Show at 29 years old. Joe also wrote for Waitrose Food Illustrated and was national columnist for the Sunday Express. Oz Clarke describes Joe's tasting ability as "excellent, with an extraordinary wine tasting repertoire"
